The High Definition DVD Studio Support Petition Campaign

Paramount and Universal say their support for HD DVD is Firm

January 11th 2008

Public statement to dispel rumours

We have gotten news this morning that both Paramount and Universal have made statements to the press saying that their support for HD DVD is firm and there are no plans to switch to Bluray.

This word dispels rumours that have been circulating that they would not stay with HD DVD in the aftermath of Warner's defection for a rumoured $620 Million incentive from the BDA.

I have also heard that HD DVD have been in strategy meetings to decide the best tactics to proceed in the market given the Warner action. I like what I am hearing.

The battle for HD DVD has certainly been made more difficult by Warner's surprise action, but we've been there before. It's not the first time that HD DVD had less studios, but the economic strengths of the format, and the consumer benefits, in terms of features and value, will still give HD DVD advantages in the marketplace.

We suggest that you consider letting Warner know what you think of their action...

After you're done emailing Warner - Visit YouChoose and place your vote for HD DVD. Show the world which format you prefer:
