Privacy Policy of HD NOW Online

Basically, your privacy is our policy !

We have opted for a very common-sense approach to our privacy policy here on the site, to make it easy to understand and no-nonsense in it's meaning. Some may say that we have been a bit slow to add this, and we would agree! We are learning our way a bit as we go - this policy is to give you confidence in us.

This website is operated by HD NOW Online, basically my brother and I (collectively, HDNOW). This privacy policy (collectively, Privacy Policy) applies to information that you provide to HDNOW via this site, and/or via other services employed by HDNOW (collectively, Services), such as the Online Petitions at PetitionSpot.com (please also see Petition Spot's privacy policy separately).

When you sign up for the petition, your name will be added to a list of supporters which will (hopefully!) be shown to executives at the studios or companies we are petitioning, and/or presented online. Your email address, however, will be kept in the strictest confidence and will not be shared even with the studios without your consent. Should we need to do so, we will ask you for your permission at a later date.

Your email address provided on signing a petition will be used to send you a welcome email from HDNOW, which will also include a mechanism for you to choose to opt out of further news from HDNOW in the future. If you choose to opt out, you will not receive any further emails from HDNOW. It is anticipated that we may send you an update on a quarterly basis, unless there is some breaking news of enough significance to warrant us moving the calendar forward.

For those of you who signed the petition before this privacy policy was posted, emails that you receive in the future will include the opt out option, for you to exercise if you choose. This excludes those of you (all five!) who have already opted-out by return email - you will not receive any future email unless you request to in the future.

Let me make clear that we do NOT and will never share your email address with any other entity for any purpose. There are only two situations in which your email will be used, which are: (1) as stated above, should we need to validate signatures to the petition target companies, we will ask your permission to do so first (2) the list management company we now use to manage our opt-ins and opt-outs - who is also bound to privacy.

Note that we may also collect non-personally-identifiable information in the course of our discourse with you. Examples of this include your IP address at the signing of the petition, or general usage information provided by our ISP or mail management company. These will not be shared with anyone else either, so you can have confidence that this petition campaign is just that, a petition campaign.

We do not have third party ads on this site, so no worries there, but we do have links out to other sites, including PetitionSpot.com - we remind you that these outside sites are not under our control and would urge you to exercise your normal degree of caution before signing up for any offers made on these outside sites - particularly, of course, if they seem too good to be true.

In the event that we should ever promote a special offer or a third party on this site, or in one of our own updates to you, it is your choice as to whether you establish a discourse with them and/or share any information with them. Such information would not fall under the terms of our relationship with you.

Again, HDNOW does not endorse or sponsor other web sites, is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of non-HDNOW sites, expressly disclaims any statements or assertions made on such web sites, and denies all liability associated with your use of, and the content on, such other sites and advertisements

In keeping with the compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding children, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). HDNOW will not knowingly collect, maintain, or disclose any personally identifiable information from a child under 13 without first obtaining consent from that child's parent or legal guardian. Therefore, you must be at least 13 years of age to use this site.

If you are a parent or guardian who has discovered that your child under the age of 13 has submitted his or her personally identifiable information without your permission or consent, HDNOW will make reasonable efforts to remove the information from our list, at your request. To request the removal of your child's information, please send an e-mail to webmaster@campaignhd.com and be sure to include in your message the same Name and E-mail address that your child submitted.

EU Data Protection Act: By providing any personally identifiable information to HDNOW, all users, including, without limitation, users in the member states of the European Union, fully understand and unambiguously consent to this Privacy Policy and to the collection, storage, and processing of such information in the United States of America and/or elsewhere, including, perhaps, if I am on an airplane..

I hope that this, our first attempt at a meaningful privacy statement, will give you the utmost confidence in what we are about on this site. If there are any "legal-eagles" out there who see something that we've ommitted or just totally "munged", please drop us a line at webmaster@campaignhd.com to let us know.

Thank You!

Ed
